Q: What is North America's largest aquatic and land-living mammal?
A: The beaver

Q: Can you name some other relatives of the beaver?
A: Yes.

Q: Really, what are some other relatives of the beaver?
A: The beaver is a rodent, so animals such as rats, mice, chipmunks and squirrels are all related.

Q: Must a beaver chew?
A: Yes. Its teeth constantly grow and they must be worn down by chewing.

Q: How did the Native Americans use the beaver?
A: The Native Americans used the pelt, meat and also the teeth. The teeth were made into tools for carving wood.

Q: Do beavers hibernate?
A: No. They remain active all winter.
